Ever notice how your hot water system goes on the blink just as you get into the shower? Hot water systems are something that you often forget about until you get the dreaded cold shower – but like every appliance, they have a limited lifespan.
When your hot water system is not working, you may not need a completely new hot water system. Often, all you need is a hot water system repair.
Hot water system problems can be caused by water tanks running dry, insufficient hot water flow, pipes “banging” or “hammering” when you turn on the hot water system, overflow valves sticking, thermostat problems causing the water to run too hot or too cool, pilot light problems, fuses shorting or valves leaking.
The Gap Plumbing Service can repair all types of hot water systems including solar hot water systems, gas hot water systems, electric hot water systems and heat pump hot water systems.
Most modern hot water systems have a lifespan of 10-15 years. When it’s time to install a new hot water system, or to convert a hot water system from electric to a gas hot water system, or LP gas-to-gas mains hot water systems – call The Gap Plumbing Service.
We are licensed and experienced in all forms of hot water systems including gas hot water systems, solar hot water systems, electric hot water systems and heat pump hot water systems.
One thing to remember is that new and replacement electric hot water systems are currently being phased out in most areas of Queensland. The Queensland Government requires that if you live in a house or townhouse located in a reticulated natural gas area, and your electric hot water system needs to be replaced, you are required to install a greenhouse efficient hot water system – either gas, solar or heat pump.
On a plus side, the State Government and Federal Government may offer rebates for energy efficient hot water systems. To check the current available hot water system rebates, and your eligibility criteria check out the State Government Rebate and Federal Government Rebate scheme websites.
